Deputy Manager
Marston’s is one of the UK’s largest and most beloved pub chains and today, we operate more than 1,400 pubs, bars and hotels. 

Now, we’re on the lookout for an ambitious Deputy Manager to support the General Manager at the Skylark lead the team to even more success!

Being a Deputy Manager is demanding, rewarding and fun – and means you’ll be well on your way to becoming a General Manager. You’ll be friendly, enthusiastic, and brimming with ideas on how to grow the business as you help your General Manager with the day-to-day duties of running a successful pub.

As a Deputy Manager you’ll:

  • Lead and inspire your team, setting an excellent example
  • Be passionate about doing the right thing for your colleagues and your customers
  • Learn from and support your General Manager
  • Be accountable for running all aspects of your pub when the General Manager is away
  • Celebrate and create a buzz by sharing enjoyable experiences.

A day in the life...

Hi, I'm Lewis

My induction with Marston’s was tailored so I visited sites that were going to be similar to mine.

I spent time with a ‘buddy’ manager from a nearby site – he was a great guy and really honest and talked to me about the culture of Marston’s as well as the day to day running of the business.

My Area Manager, Nigel was really supportive and if he didn’t have the answer he would pull on his network of experts to support.

Induction

Dedicated support

Opening a new build pub

On the opening day there was so many people coming in but I wasn’t worried as I had every type of support there to help it run smoothly. The whole board came down for a meal at my pub, the CEO and the Managing Director are really nice people and down to earth too!
